Acrylic on Canvas, 50x40cm
July 2023
This piece captures the burning Tuscan heat of July.
During my month in Siena, I got to experience that heat in full force — brutal, really, especially in an old house with no air conditioning, with my bedroom facing southwest. All I could do was close the window shutters, though it barely helped.
This painting was illuminated by a faint streak of sunlight slipping through the almost-closed shutters of my window.
It was so beautiful to me to see the light, almost by chance, touching the lone pair of trees as I stepped into my room.
