Acrylic on Canvas, 70x120cm
April 2025
I felt that all my efforts were useless. I had tried so hard to please God, and yet I failed.
At the beginning of the year, I was confronted with my false notions of Him which had caused me a lot of suffering. During that time, I shed many tears over the pain I was never able to put into words.
I remember the day I painted this piece, I was filled with anger and frustration that simply needed and outlet. It felt like a complete collapse of the construct shaped by my mind.
While I painted this, I was listening to my favorite classical composition: Má vlast: VItava (My Country: Moldau) by Bedřich Smetana. Powerfully composed, yet gentle and flowing like a river.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
Revelation 21:4 KJV
