Acrylic and Oil on Canvas, 70x50cm
July 2023
I believe this piece almost speaks for itself. It captures the raw, unfiltered language of pain and despair — the deepest shadows that surrounded me at the beginning of this year. And yet, looking back, I’m grateful for that passage through darkness, because without it, I wouldn’t have arrived where I stand today.
(What happened during that time, I share in more detail in the video below.)
Every breaking bears a blessing.
“The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in. There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone. In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.” Isaiah 24:10-12 KJV
